📝 Ingredients
For the dough:
- 2 ½ cups (300g) all-purpose flour
- ½ cup (100g) sugar
- 2 tbsp honey 🍯
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 tbsp milk
For the cream filling:
- 2 cups (500ml) milk
- ½ cup (100g) sugar
- 3 tbsp semolina (or flour)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 150g butter (softened)
For topping:
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)

1. Prepare the dough:
- In a saucepan, gently heat the honey, sugar, butter, and milk until combined.
- Remove from heat, let cool slightly, then mix in the egg.
- Add flour and baking soda, and knead into a soft dough.
2. Bake the layers:
- Divide the dough into 3–4 parts.
- Roll each thin and bake at 180°C (350°F) for about 5–7 minutes until lightly golden.
3. Make the cream:
- Heat milk, sugar, and semolina while stirring until thick.
- Let it cool, then mix in butter and vanilla until smooth.
4. Assemble:
- Layer the baked sheets with cream.
- Stack them and press gently.
5. Finish:
- Let the cake rest for several hours (or overnight) so it softens.
- Cut into squares and dust with powdered sugar.

- The cake tastes better the next day as it becomes soft and rich.
