Hungarian Chicken Paprikash

Ingredients:

  • 700 g chicken thighs, cut into pieces
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp Hungarian sweet paprika
  • 2 bell peppers, sliced
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 250 ml chicken broth
  • 150 ml sour cream
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • Salt and black pepper
  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions:

  1. Heat the oil and cook the onions until soft. Add the garlic.
  2. Stir in the paprika, then add the chicken and brown it lightly.
  3. Add the peppers, tomatoes, broth, salt, and pepper.
  4. Cover and simmer for 40–45 minutes until the chicken is tender.
  5. Mix the sour cream with the flour and stir it into the sauce.
  6. Cook for another 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with noodles, dumplings, or rice.
